Every Child Is the Protagonist

06/22/2025

When we think about child development, it is common to imagine that adults parents, teachers, and therapists play the leading role. But the truth is, in every process, the real star is the child.

Being a protagonist means that the child is not just “receiving care”, but is actively participating in the discoveries, achievements, and even the challenges that are part of growing up.

Placing the child at the center of the process does not mean letting them decide everything on their own. It means recognizing that their choices, interests, and ways of expressing themselves deserve space and respect. This means paying close attention to what they enjoy, what sparks their curiosity, and the most natural ways for them to learn and connect.

Why is this important?

When a child is treated as the protagonist:

-Development happens in a lighter and more natural way.

-They feel safer and more confident.

-Learning becomes more meaningful, as it comes from their own experiences.

-The bond with adults grows stronger, since they realize their voice and feelings are valued.

The role of the family and the clinic

Parents and professionals walk together to create this space of protagonism. In the family, this can happen when parents allow the child to take part in daily choices, such as playtime, clothing, or how to organize their materials. At the clinic, it means proposing activities based on their interests and respecting their rhythm, rather than following ready-made formulas.

At Creatively, we believe that every child has a unique story to tell, and our mission is to create the ideal setting for them to shine as the main character of their own journey.

Every child is the protagonist of their life. It is up to us, the adults, to provide support, tools, and affection so they can discover their path with confidence, joy, and autonomy.
